We Are a Licensed and Accredited Early Learning Centre For Children 12 months to 12 years of Age

Toddler Program (ages 12 months to 3 years)

Our Toddler Program signals the first time many of our children are introduced to care outside of the home. Our staff balance the need for comfort with gradually instilling a sense of independence in each child, at their own pace.

This is a time of discovery and increased cognitive, social and emotional development. Through planned and free-play activities and interactions, we focus on growth in the following areas:

  • Gross Motor Skills – walking, running, jumping, climbing, stretching
  • Fine Motor Skills – drawing, colouring, cutting, stacking, building with larger objects
  • Speech and Language Development – hearing and receiving information, expanding vocabulary, communicating with body language, gestures and words
  • Socialization – interacting with staff, interacting with peers, sharing, communicating, pretend and make-believe play
  • Cognitive and Sensory Development – literacy, numeracy, colours, shapes, matching, imitating, comprehension, verbalizing, following directions
  • Personal Care and Hygiene – semi-independent at eating, dressing and grooming, washing up, potty-training

Preschool Program (ages 3 years to 5 years)

Our Preschool program builds on the learnings and development acquired in the Toddler room with a focus on resiliency and preparation for kindergarten. At this age, children have gained a greater sense of independence and comprehension to activate the next level of growth and advancement in the following areas:

  • Gross Motor Skills – balancing, hopping, skipping, biking, throwing and catching, climbing
  • Fine Motor Skills – buttoning, cutting in a straight line, writing, drawing, colouring in the lines, building with blocks and legos, molding with playdough
  • Speech and Language Development – asking and answering questions, conversing, singing, reading stories, increasing vocabulary and grammar, following three-part commands, knows basic information about themselves and the world around them
  • Social and Emotional Development – sharing and taking turns, initiating or joining in play with other children, dramatic play, exhibiting assertiveness and independence, developing friendships, awareness of other’s feelings, increasing attention span, listening while others are speaking, understanding of right and wrong
  • Cognitive Development – literacy (recognizing letters and sounds, writing the alphabet, pre-reading skills), numeracy (recognizing numbers and counting, pre-math skills), matching and sorting, recognizing patterns, three-dimensional objects
  • Personal Care – independent eating, dressing and grooming, washing up and using the potty

Out of School Care Program (ages 6 years to 12 years)

The Out of School Care program is designed to recognize the individual strengths and preferences of our students within a safe and nurturing environment. Our focus is to offer new and interesting activities that allow the children to use their imagination and creativity, working independently or with a group of friends. Our approach is to further enhance growth in the following areas:

  • Gross Motor Skills – participation in team games, obstacle courses, playing a variety of sports, biking, yoga, dance routines
  • Fine Motor Skills – neatly printing, drawing recognizable pictures, precise cutting and colouring, beading, intricate painting
  • Speech and Language Development – reading chapter books and novels, conversing and debating, expressing logical thinking and thoughts, vast vocabulary
  • Social and Emotional Development – further developing social skills and navigating social situations with friends, communicating independently, resolving conflicts, exhibiting empathy, sharing and including others
  • Cognitive Development – versed in the fundamentals of reading, writing and basic math, can answer who, what, where, when and why, understands and follows all directions, increased attention span when working on a task
  • Personal Care – fully independent in eating, dressing and grooming, washing up and using the washroom
